zzz

The No. 1 thing on the top of my wishlist now is sleep. One entire week of about 4 hours of sleep a day is driving me crazy. Gah I can currently doze off in any position within a minute.

Can't wait for 5th March to be over.

Happy Chinese New Year

1. My computer is like a human. It needs ample sleep every night. Every time it slogs through the night working on some project, it will explode, and nothing can make it function again for another 1 to 3 days. T_T First it was PW, then it was H3 essay. Now, half my music fest arrangement is gone.

For now.

Omg com please resurrect soon!!

2. It helps to help people :) Thanks laiweng for passing me the Sibelius CD which I lent her a few months ago. Now I can continue working on music fest via my laptop :)

3. A helpful reader told me that I should wake up at 8:43 on Mondays. Thanks!

4. I did 7 pullups today after having around 3-4 hours of sleep per day for the past 3 days. Late december last year after my braces I could barely do 2 good pullups. This is incredible.. O.o

Life is tough, but I'll pull through. Come on hongrui! :)

I must not be late on monday mornings again

According to the school rules, a student who arrives at school after 740 on Tuesdays to Fridays and 0950 on Mondays is considered late.

During the school term, Hong Rui will wake up one hour before the late time. He leaves his house exactly half an hour after he wakes up, and walks to Buangkok Mrt Station. The walking time, T, follows a normal distribution of with mean 5 minutes and variance 2 minutes.

Upon reaching Buangkok MRT station, Hong Rui takes the train from Buangkok to Serangoon. The journey takes 7 minutes, while the waiting time, X, follows a normal distribution with mean 4 minutes and variance 2 minutes

At Serangoon MRT station, Hong Rui takes 1 minute to walk from the NEL side of the station to the CCL side. After that, he will then take the train from Serangoon to Marymount station. The journey time is 7 minutes, while the waiting time, Y, follows a normal distribution with mean 4 minutes and variance 3 minutes

After alighting at Marymount station, Hong Rui takes Z amount of time to walk to RJ, where Z follows a normal distribution with mean 4 minutes and variance 2 minutes.

Supposing all the journey times are independent of one another, find the latest time Hong Rui has to wake up on Monday such that the probability of him being late for school is less than 0.05

Today, I missed the train at Buangkok station and waited for 6 minutes. When I reached Serangoon, the train just left and I had to wait for another 7 minutes T_T

Dang, I'm sick again.

It seems that I always get sick around this time of the year.. Last year I suffered from severe Migraine during Chinese New Year's eve. This time, I got a cold.

And the cause of the cold is really quite absurd.

2 nights ago, I sleepwalked. I went to bed at around midnight, and in the morning I was on the sofa in the living room. I had no idea how I ended up there. If I dozed off on the sofa and found myself in my bed in the morning, that would probably make more sense, but that wasn't the case. And because I spent part of my night (idk how long) on the sofa instead of my warm bed with my blanket, I was subjected to the unrelenting gusts of wind that blew in from the window which I was directly facing. I woke up that day with a flu and a very dry throat.

Hope I get to pon school on Tuesday cos we are supposed to hand in our free compos x)

the sky has fallen part 3

After school ended today, I took the MRT from Marymount to Changi. The trip took exactly 1 hour inclusive of waiting time.

Then, I took a taxi from Changi Airport to Changi Exhibition Center (CEC) where the Singapore Airshow was held. The trip cost me $13.20.

At the CEC, I collected the entry passes for the Flame of Youth band and myself. We were supposed to perform "Flame of Youth" at the Airshow tomorrow and Sunday.

After collecting the passes, I took the Airshow shuttle bus from CEC back to Changi Airport. The shuttle bus trip cost $5.

At 9:15pm today, I got a call from the Singapore Airshow coordinator. She started the convo with "Hong Rui, I'm really really really sorry to tell you ..."

Sigh.

Imagine you're preparing for a concert and suddenly 12 hours before your concert the organizers tell you that your concert is cancelled. No explanations, nothing. Something cropped up and they had no choice but to cancel it.

Sigh.

Thank you everyone for staying with me and Benlow throughout this entire project :) Everyone who voted for the song on the Sing Singapore 2010 website, our dear teacher ic Ms Hazel Shen, the enthu van driver who was supposed to drive us there tomorrow, Kenneth for preparing to dismantle and lend me his drums again, and all the band members Jerald, Eugene, Ian and Eliza.

It's time to rebuild the sky :)
