Omg.

OMG.

OMFG!

Those were my precise words when I saw my piano teacher’s sms:
”Hong Rui got Distinction for his cello exam.”

Oh my gawd.

Haha I think I’m starting to like Oboist examiners who don’t know anything about string instruments now =D My teacher had 4 students taking exam that day, I was the one that screwed up the worst, and I was the only one that got the distinction.

I checked that score online, so I don’t know the breakdown yet, only knew that I got 130 total. ^ ^ Haha scraped Distinction! My first first first Distinction in my 9 years of learning music!!

I think it’s like last year’s MEP EOY practical. While everyone else played piano, I happily took out my cello, and that surprised Ms Goh as it was something new, giving the judges a break from the boring piano pieces. >.< Well so I got 42/50 and became a “High Scorer” even though I totally didn’t deserve it. =P

So this time, since that Oboist examiner never had a single cellist examinee before (I presume), I guess my performance was interesting? O.o Even though I was super out of tune and the whole piece really really sucked, I guessed I managed to bluff my way through like I did to Ms Goh last year. =D

Dang, but this tactic can only use once, and it really depends on the examiner. (Haha good luck to Max who played Bagpipe for his EOYs)

Shall post the breakdown of marks once I get it some time soon.

PS: And my MEP EOY practical this year confirm gg.
PPS: Yes I’ve decided to go for MEP in JC.
