Basketball (and mahjong and bridge and poker) outing @ Chua Chu Kang today
I haven't played basketball for ages. The last time I played was on 11th Nov, at Dennis' house after we collected our APR and Dennis finished suanning everyone.
Today's basketball was quite fun I guess =D 8 people in total, 4 RI guys and 4 SJI guys. 3 matches in total. The first match was RI vs SJI, and we got trashed like some crap.
I scored 0 points in that game, and I realised that I really really really cannot shoot for nuts. If I try to shoot, my accuracy is probably like 10% when not under pressure and 5% when under pressure. If I do a lay up (provided that I managed to actually get under the net and jump without obstruction), then maybe the accuracy can be around 40%-50%. But half the time I cannot dribble my way through everyone -.-
But basically I still can't shoot for nuts. So I thought of holding the ball and jumping up to near the hoop, and then just tipping the ball lightly over the hoop and into the net =D Well and it worked pretty well I guess haha, and my team won the second and third match. Whee :)
Yay so in the 3 matches, I averaged like 2.3 points (I scored 7 total, 3 in 2nd match and 4 in 3rd match), ~1-2 blocks, and like ~5 rebounds or so.
Then after that we had lunch and went to Joshua's ouse, where we played mahjong, bridge and poker. Mahjong was quite boring, we played 8 games, and I only won 1, which is the last one. Haha that match was quite funny. Dennis was left with 2 tiles, and has to discard one. If he throws the "2 bamboo", then Joshua wins. Then he chose to throw the "1 bamboo", and Yuxin and I both got a combined win =DD
Bridge was okay.. Dennis won all the 4 games.
Poker was quite fun haha =D I won the first round mainly due to luck. Like I got pretty good cards and did not bluff my way or anything. But in the second round, I was the first to get kicked out after bluffing a "All-in" and stupid Dennis caught my bluff >.< Hmmppff. But he lent me some chips to re-enter the game and I made quite a comeback... until I decided to go bluffing again. Dennis and Yuxin were left in a final showdown and Dennis got trashed quite badly haha
