back from China!
That was one super long trip omg. I got a little bored towards the end, but overall it was still quite fun and fruitful
I didn't get to see snow D: I visited Beijing Tianjin Chengde and Shanghai but it either snowed before or after I went to each location x_x how exasperating!
I bought a lot of stuff, but they were all done under the watchful eye of my parents. How I wish they could just give me some money and let me roam the place myself and not interfere with what I'm going to buy. Everything I buy need to have a reason, so I couldn't get a lot of things for my friends because, as I quote, 'it didn't have a point' T_T
Nevertheless, China is really a great place for buying stuffs. My parents bought a lot of food, but I'm still having reservations about things in China and so I always steer clear of things that I need to put into my mouth and body. Here are some of the things I got:
1. A suit (RMB 200 = ~$40)
I finally have my own suit! ^_^ (I borrowed my prom one eh in case you were wondering) The entire suit, both top and bottom costs only 40 bucks! What a steal! x)
2. Nike running shoes (RMB 70 = ~$14)
You know its an imitation when the Nike logo is embedded the wrong way. Haha but its still comfy and functional. Time to go running
3. Timberland outdoor shoes (RMB 80 = ~$16)
They're brown, nice, and really comfy. I remembered going on a school trip to Beijing in sec 2 and Nigel Fong bought the same shoes. He got it for RMB 300 if i'm not wrong. My mum's bargaining skills is (Y)
4. Black leather shoes (RMB 85 = ~$17)
My old pair was starting to tear so its time to get a new pair. There were a lot of cheap ones at RMB 20!! Hehe but I decided to get a better one that looks more stylish.
5. Books and scores
Amazing stuffs :DDD Shanghai book city is awesome. 7 storey building filled with books, books and more books. I bought 2 fiction books, 4 non-fiction, and 7 books of scores in total.
6. Painting (RMB 150 = ~$30)
Its on horses, and the original price is like RMB 800+ but I won a lucky draw and got to buy it for $150. Its as big as the flower one in Tingfang's house i think, if not bigger x)
7. Rubik's cubes x)))
I bought a tetrahedral shaped one for RMB 15 and a 3x3x3 cube with all the faces of the same colour for RMB 35. I got a feeling I got scammed for the latter, I saw the sales assistant sniggering at me.
Of course there are many more, but it will take forever to list everything. Anw life in China is quite different from Singapore. The same soap produces less foam there (something to do with hard water i think) and the traffic situation there is (Y). I hear a car horn about once every 3 seconds. 2 weeks in China has made me desensitized to haze, nicotine and jaywalking DDD:
I shall upload some pictures when I feel like sorting out the pics in my camera. I can't wait to see everyone again! Organise more outings! Badminton, tennis, soccer, basketball, lanning, mahjong, anything! :D I'll be there.
Happy New Year everyone! :D
